The Kandūfā Foundation is dedicated to driving systemic change globally through its core focus areas: leadership development, preservation of cultural heritage, and climate action.

With a particular emphasis on women and young people, the foundation embraces an intersectional approach to philanthropy, aiming to address the root causes of social and environmental issues.

Founded by Ayesha Nurain Janah, the foundation is a heartfelt tribute to her mother and maternal grandparents. Rooted in the rich history of Kandoodhoo, Thaa Atoll, in the Maldives, where the staple food kandoo was once vital for survival, faa referencing the fertile grounds that allow kandoo to grow and thrive. Kandūfā symbolises resilience and dedication. It honours the humble islanders who migrated to Malé to work tirelessly to provide for their families and prioritise education, ultimately inspiring the foundation's mission.

At Kandūfā Foundation, we believe in the power of education and cultural preservation as tools for empowerment and sustainable development. Our work is dedicated to creating lasting, systemic change, honouring the legacy of those who came before us.
