Introducing… Kandūfā Foundation’s Global Microgrant Fund

We are excited to launch this microgrant fund investing in innovative initiatives globally and championing young women to create an impact in our areas of focus in leadership development, cultural heritage, and climate action.

This fund aims to empower and uplift young women, particularly those from rural areas, by providing wrap around resources including financial assistance to help them achieve their goals.

Our microgrants are designed to support projects in key focus areas such as career and leadership development, cultural heritage, and environmental stewardship. Special priority will be given to young women based in the islands of the Maldives.

Our long-term vision for this fund is to create sustainable and impactful support for young women in South Asia and around the world. By providing financial resources and mentorship, we aim to empower a global network of changemakers to drive systemic and meaningful change in their communities.

We envision a network of passionate, skilled, young leaders who are equipped to tackle leadership challenges, embrace their cultural heritage, and take climate action. The fund is initially being seeded by our founder with an initial microgrants round of 5x grants up to USD 500. As the administrative structure around this fund is being established, our hope is the fund will grow to enable us to create further impact and reach.

Apply for one of 5 available microgrants up to USD 500

In this initial round, we are offering 5 microgrants up to USD 500 to be released by January 2025. exclusively for young women aged 16-25 from the Maldives (Dhivehi Raajje) OR Aotearoa New Zealand. The microgrants will be provided to projects or initiatives working on one of our core focus areas: leadership development, cultural heritage, or climate action. Priority will be given to applications from young women in rural islands of the Maldives.

Please note that the selection process will take some time as will the administrative process of releasing the funds. We aim to release all microgrants by January 2025.
